Když se otočíte zády k jezeru Velence, naskytne se vám pohled na rozmanitou architekturu v jeho okolí. Kromě velkých turistických komplexů a kempů, ve kterých jsou chatičky jedna jako druhá, zde najdete různorodé domy, chaty i přístřešky. Tato fotografická kniha mapuje stavby, které obklopují jezero ve městech Velence a Gárdony.
Podobně jako ve městech na sídlištích můžete pozorovat rozdílnou výzdobu balkonů, který si každý přetvoří podle svého, a podle ztvárnění lze hádat, kdo může být vlastníkem onoho balkonu. Zde u jezera, když se proplétáte úzkými uličkami mezi domy, můžete pozorovat transformaci celých staveb. Přestože jsou v těsném sousedství mohou být výrazně odlišné. Najdete zde domky zchátralé, porostlé zelení, že nejsou skoro vidět, stánky, které v zimních měsících zejí prázdnotou, stejně jako chaty zahrádkářů, rodinné domky nebo novostavby, které všechny převyšují svou monumentalitou a jsou to spíše sídla, jejichž fasáda ještě není poznamenána časem.
Největší zvláštností jsou stavby, které jsou v půli rozdělené a stávají se tak dvěma domy v jednom. Každý z nich má svou vchodovou branku a náleží mu separátní část zahrady, která dům obklopuje, občas je pouze původní tvar domu to jediné, co tyto dvojdomy spojuje.

Topography of countryside architecture
When you turn your back towards Lake Velence, you find yourself looking at a spectacular range of types of architecture around the lake. Except for big tourist complexes and camps, where all the huts look the same, you can find a great variety of houses, cottages and even shelters. This Photographic book maps buildings, which surround the lake coast in the cities of Gárdony and Velence.
In the city’s housing estates, you can see various decorations on the balconies and based on that guess who lives in the flat behind the door. Similarly to that, next to the lake, when you weave your way through the narrow streets between the houses you can observe transformation of whole buildings. Although the houses stand in tight contiguity with each other, they can look completely different. During one walk through the city you come across old ramshackle houses, houses vegetated so much that they are almost invisible, stands which are abandoned in the winter as well as gardeners’ cottages and detached houses that bloom with life. Above all that, rise in all their monumentality new residences which profit of the fact that their facades have not been ravaged by time yet.
The biggest anomaly amongst all are buildings, which have been split in half and divided into two separate houses. Either of them has its own entrance gate and part of the garden that is surrounding the house. Sometimes the only thing that connects the two houses is the original shape of the building.
